Our second vacation in Turkey! The first one was the stunning Bodrum, which we just loved! And this time we have picked up the beautiful Antalya!
Travelling! It leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller! (Ibn Battuta)
Such wise words and so true!! Travelling surely expands minds and gives a new vision and perspective in life and what a gift for children – to understand the world a bit more.
For me, the holiday fun begun as soon as we started driving to the airport! Excited as a kid, I, Mr Q and Ayzah got to the London Stansted airport just as the sun rose!
The flight was ok, since we left home in the middle of the night, we were mostly dozing off on board….and by the time we finished having a nap we were landing in Antalya!
Antalya airport was quite busy, in fact it is the third-busiest airport in Turkey. It is one of the major airports of the Southwest of Turkey, the others being Bodrum and Dalaman. Antalya is the largest Turkish city on the Mediterranean coast and Turkey’s biggest international sea resort, with a population of 2.2 million (2015) it has many beautiful blue flag sandy beaches and world class resorts.
Driving in Antalya was a bit tricky if I may say so. Other road users are not as law abiding as you may expect, say, in the UK.
Our stay was in a stunning 5 star Oz Premium hotel Side (prounced C-day) on all inclusive basis! it is situated a short walk (8-10 minutes) away from a beautiful sandy beach and has a stylish interior and exterior with giant outdoor and indoor swimming pools as well as a kids pool.. which Ayzah just loved!
The highlight was a separate pool with “water slides” – great fun for all ages!
Our room was very spacious, with a good sized balcony. Hotel got a gym and spa as well, offers steam rooms, saunas and Turkish Bath as well as massage rooms. We enjoyed every bit.
There were kid’s activities and disco every evening and also daily entertainments for grown ups.
Food was just ok, but plenty!
However, the hotel was lacking service in quite a few areas.
The temperature went up to 44° C for a couple of days, but the rest of the time it was ideal for sun soaking and getting the much needed vitamin D for us beach bums😜! All in all we had a good memorable family time!
Here are few of the pics to share with you all. Enjoy
Ps. I will be posting a Turkish lamb stew with okra recipe for you all shortly. Watch this space 🤓
