Handmade by Sadi

There’s been plenty going on behind the scenes lately, with the blog moving to its own website, pending art projects and house hunting, quite time-consuming activities!

I have just finished creating my shadow boxes for a friend’s nursery wall. There hasn’t been a whole lot of time for new art projects and crafts, so today I am sharing a card which I made a few months ago – a shabby chic Congratulations card!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – there is no right and wrong with the art, every piece is unique and expresses the soul of the artist and a story of the artist’s inspiration! 😊

This card could be used for any number of occasions with the appropriate message — a wedding card, anniversary or a new home, congratulations! I LOVE the versatility of it!

This is how I made it.

First off, I used a square white card 6″ x 6″ and added a light green pattern paper on top to frame my centrepiece which is a beautiful bird house nesting right in the middle of a flower wreath, made of a thick cotton waxed String! Decorated with a little “Handmade” note on a wooden charm, leaves, silver and pink twine, white opal liquid pearls, pink silk roses and ribbons.

I have to say this card ended up looking very elegant, couldn’t resist having some photo fun with it!

These are my favourite shots😊
